Today we had a beautiful Mass to start our day off in which we each put a can up on the alter as an offering!
Today we practiced retelling the story of Thanksgiving, wrote about and drew our own Thanksgiving, imagined what our Thanksgiving would be like using our 5 senses, and worked together to do math and literacy activities!
Our total can collection for the St. Luke Food Pantry is 73!!! It is so encouraging to acknowledge all of the generosity and giving experienced throughout the process!! Thank you to each of you who contributed!!
A big round of applause goes out to Pre-K 3 for bringing in 104 cans!! Amazing job!
I pray that each of you and your families have a most blessed Thanksgiving holiday!! There is truly so much to be thankful for!! May your Thanksgiving break be filled with joy, love, and thanks!!

Fabulous Friday!
Brrrrrr! What a breathtaking (or take your breath away) chilly Friday!!
In our SecondStep guidance today we learned about accidents and when things happen, but they're not on purpose. We practiced how to respond to accidents and how to handle them with our friends!
Today we listened to The First Thanksgiving to retell the story in order to learn the relationship between the Indians and Pilgrims!
In math today, we worked with placing objects (our shoes!) on a larger sized graph to read the graph to identify the most and fewest!
We practiced our Christmas song again today in music and our Spanish teachers came for a lesson!!
We had a fantastic day learning together!!
Your child has homework this weekend to build a Tepee!!! The model is on a piece of paper, but you and your family can decorate however you wish to!! Once we all have created one, we will have a tepee village in our classroom! We are truly enjoying learning about the Native Americans and life long ago!
We are still collecting cans!!! We are up to 63!! We will collect cans through next Tuesday!
I hope you each have a warm and safe weekend!! May God's blessings be overflowing for you and your families!!!
FYI: We DO have school next Monday and Tuesday!!! We do NOT have school Wednesday-Friday in order to celebrate Thanksgiving!!

Misting Thursday!!
The mist today was very coincidental as many of us did not know what mist was so we were able to feel it and then work with the word mist since we added it to our word worm today!
We are working on identifying sounds and letters at the beginning and end of words!
In math today, we continued our work with geoboard shapes!
We learned more about hibernation today and why/how animals hibernate!!
In religion today, we learned more about being thankful, the importance of saying "Thank you!", and discussed the meaning of a 'horn of plenty!'
Today in social studies we started learning about Native Americans!!
We are now up to 62 cans!!!

Wonderful Wednesday Thanksgiving Luncheon!
What a wonderful Thanksgiving Luncheon Feast we had today!! It was such a special opportunity to share in thanksgiving together!
Today we worked with consonant blends (just like putting two letters and their sounds into a blender to blend them to make one sound)!
In math, we worked with geoboards to work on our shapes!
Fitting in perfectly with giving thanks around a wonderful meal together today, we talked about the 'Grace Before Meals' prayer that we pray every time before we eat to thank God for the food He blesses us with!
In science, we learned about forest animals and hibernation!
We used our imaginations in social studies today to write and draw about if we lived long ago!
Our food collection is now: 59!!! The giving is spreading and is truly amazing!
FYI: There are NO Wednesday folders being sent home today.
